Our downstairs has been in disarray for two weeks now, much to Sebby and Quincy’s dismay. If you recall, we had a failed tile job that delayed things. Neither one is still allowed in the living room, because to be honest, vapor barrier and subfloor isn’t really something they can play on. Quincy is just starting to figure out the walking thing, so when the Joovy Spoon in Purpleness arrived at our doorstep at the beginning of the week, I was estatic. After being confined to her high chair or her room (and occasionally outside when it wasn’t raining) for the previous 10 days, she wanted some freedom.
Why we love the Joovy Spoon
The smartly designed Spoon from Joovy was the answer to her freedom, and it iradicated the mommy guilt I was having not being able to allow her to roam free in the kitchen because of all the construction in our adjoining living room.
Now, I’ll be honest, I am not a fan of most baby walkers. Overly structured baby containment devices with 100 toys attached to every blank surface is just not my idea of practical. ADHD central! Not good!
The Joovy Spoon is sleek, clean and height adjustable. Why is this important? Because your little one’s feet should be FLAT on the floor when they are in any sort of walker, saucer etc. There are 3 height adjustments, and will accomodate a child up to 30 pounds and 33 inches tall. For petite Quincy, this is good news! It’s wide base design should also keep her fingers from being pinched if she attempts to venture through a door way or bangs up against a wall.
Plus, it’s easy to clean and with the nice large tray, free of clutter, Quincy can eat her favorite animal crackers AND play with a puzzle at the same time. An added bonus? The tray snaps out so easily for cleaning, and it’s dishwasher safe!
Set up was a breeze. The Spoon was almost ready to go out of the box, I just snapped in the wheels and the washable (MACHINE WASHABLE) Purpleness cover and adjusted it to the right height and we were ready to roll. Best deal? When it’s not in use it easily folds down for storage, which is BRILLIANT.
The verdict? We love it! Quincy is happy that she can chill with us without me worrying about her crawling around on the dusty floor. Plus, it exercises her leg muscles, which is important. It’s a real win win.
Important Safety Tips about Walkers
NEVER leave child unattended.
ALWAYS keep child in view while in walker.
NEVER use near stairs, steps or thresholds.
Use only on flat surfaces free of objects that could cause the walker to tip over.
To avoid burns, keep child away from hot liquids, ranges, radiators, space heaters, fireplaces etc.
NEVER carry walker with child inside.
ALWAYS check that both feet of the child can reach the floor.

What a wonderful idea!! This would be so perfect for my niece (who has shown herself to be quite the messy- and busy- eater!)
not a fan of walkers but I love that this is such a multitasker! That tray is awesome
ooo i love that it is like the ones that we had as a kid. the ones with 7 million toys always bothered me too.
Nice design! Looks like it is very adjustable. Love the big tray area!
My little one would love this.. is is so into motion lately.
Another great review of a great Joovy product. I love all their products, they are safe, great designs and so convenient for not only child but parents as well!
Hearing how easy to use this item is definitely boosts my confidence in it. We have had some interesting times trying to put together some baby items we received and never want to experience that again!
