Last week I flew to Pasadena for a sneak peek of the third installment in the Beverly Hills Chihuahua empire, Viva La Fiesta. Even though it doesn’t officially hit store shelves until today, I received a copy to share with my family.
We’ve watched “the puppies” or”chihuahua movie” over a dozen times. Not kidding. Not that I blame them. This is a really cute movie. First of all, who doesn’t love dogs, particularly chihuahuas. Include that they are sometimes dressed up in fun outfits and they talk? Pure entertainment. My favorite part? The band auditions for Rosa’s quincinera. The names of the bands are a riot and the whole scene is just fun to watch. You WON’T be disappointed.
Here’s the official film synopsis:
Everyone’s favorite talking Chihuahuas Papi (voice of George Lopez) and Chloe (voice of Odette Annable) are back, joined by their five playful pups in an all-new family comedy. It’s canine chaos as Papi’s family (dog and human) move into the posh Langham Hotel, complete with a luxurious doggy spa. But there’s trouble in puppy paradise when Rosa, the littlest member of the pack, feels smaller and less special than ever. Now it’s up to Papi to help Rosa find – and celebrate – her inner strength, which turns out to be bigger than she ever dreamed and reminds humans and canines alike of the importance of family, friends and teamwork.
I don’t want to give anything away, but Rosa ends up quite the little hero in Beverly Hills Chihuahua III. To find out why, you’ll have to go pick up a copy of the movie today!
But honestly? The absolute BEST thing about Beverly Hills Chihuahua III? 95% of the dogs in the film were rescues. I don’t know about you, but I think it’s wonderful. (and it makes me want to head to the animal shelter this weekend…)
Disclosure: I received a all inclusive trip to Pasadena to preview this film as well as a complementary copy. All of the opinions here are my own and yours may differ. No other compensation was received.
