As part of my partnership with GE, I received coupons for my GE light bulbs. All opinions posted about my GE Lighting experience are my own.
I’m participating in this Champions for Kids SIMPLE Service Project as a simple way to give back to the community and organizations that support children.
Northwest Center Kids
Both of my children attend the child development program at Northwest Center Kids, a division of Northwest Center here in Seattle. Northwest Center is for people of all abilities, and not only do they help children of special needs, but they also offer adults the opportunity to work and participate in the community. They really are a wonderful organization.
In addition to GE energy saving light bulbs, I am also donating a few items that I know they can use in the classrooms at Northwest Center Kids. It seems in addition to light bulbs, kids can never need enough Kleenex or baby wipes – believe me – I know how many wipes I go through at home, so I can only imagine a classroom!
Participate in your own SIMPLE Service Project
I’d like to encourage all of you to participate in your own SIMPLE Service Project and share the GE Energy Smart Challenge! If you’ve participated in this project, tell me about it, and if you plan to, make sure you come back and let me know! I’d love to hear how you’ve made a difference.
Participate in the GE challenge and then submit a nomination of a school or charity to win a $100 Walmart gift card for them!

I’m donating items to my daughter’s preschool. Budgets are tight everyone and any little bit I can do to help is always appreciated.

I know they’ll appreciate the wipes and tissues-every classroom I visit uses a ton. But I love that they’ll be able to use the bulbs for years to come and save money, too!
