Maven - Blog Disclosure - FTC

For as long as I can remember, my mom has given us new jammies on Christmas Eve to wear for Santa. I always loved the tradition of opening that first gift. Now that I have my own kids, I wanted to continue creating Christmas traditions, but with a twist. Last year we opened our Christmas jammies the day we put our tree up so we could enjoy them all December long. This year, we kicked it up a notch. We opened up our jammies on December 1st, but I added some Disney Holiday Classics to the mix.

I also made my own advent calendar for the kids to use every year, so our new official tradition is starting our advent calendar and opening our Christmas jammies. I love the idea of giving them Christmas movies too. We’ve already watched Mickey’s Christmas Carol and Winnie the Pooh’s Christmas countless times.

I found these fabulous jammies at Gymboree the other day, well, they call the Gymmies, so let’s call them fabulous Gymmies. The cotton flannel is so thick and soft, and I’m cracking up over the sheep. And the best part? I was able to get them for all three kids. That’s one of the things I love about Gymboree, it’s a great place for me to find coordinating outfits for all three of my kids, at pretty good prices (love their sales!)

Now, I’m going to be honest here, it’s REALLY hard to get a photo of ALL of my kids in their jammies. Like nearly impossible. It was blogger outtakes here.  Quirky looks from Quincy, blurs from Sebby, even Edison joined in the shenanigans. I can assure you, all very normal around here.

I was determined though, to get a photo of my kids in their adorable Christms Gymmies. Easier said then done. Until I thought of the ultimate bribe. Visiting Santa. It worked.

Jammies with Santa

Auburn Super Mall, which is about an hour south of us has an amazing Santa’s Workshop. They have a special day for children with special needs to come visit the big man in the red suit. It’s simply wonderful, and for the first time, I think Sebby really connected with Santa (after the pictures were taken Santa and Sebby were playing on his iPad, I wish I had a photo of it)

It’s no doubt that creating Christmas traditions is one of the best things about being a kid. Check out this adorable video from Gymboree.

Oh how this post brought me back our family had the same jammie tradition well everyone but my dad lol. I continued this with my kids too. I wish I would have thought of doing it the day we put up the tree what a great twist .

Love the matching jammies! There are some adorable photos here. I just love “sleeping” pics. They always look so precious. I really love the idea of opening your new jammies at the beginning of December when you put up the tree. I miss Christmas already!

  10. This is such an adorable picture! I sure wish I could get my girls to get close enough to Santa for a picture – they’ll look at him from afar but won’t go anywhere near him. This also includes the Easter Bunny. It’s strange, they’ll go say hi to the characters in Disney but for some reason are afraid of Santa and the Easter Bunny. :/
