I’ve been playing Monopoly for as long as I can remember. I remember pulling out the tattered and worn box from it’s place on the shelf, organizing the money into their correct trays and lining up the wooden (yes, wooden) houses in neat little rows. Then there was separating the Chance and Community Chest cards and fighting over who was the dog or the iron or the car.
Family game night has changed a lot over the years, and so has Monopoly. Last month my friends at Saban Brands sent me a very special edition of Monopoly. The Power Rangers 20th Anniversary Edition. First, I was shocked to realize it’s been 20 years since I was first introduced to the Power Rangers, but that’s another post. When I opened the box and checked out the board, I instantly knew it would be a hit, but not at my house.
My friend Cristi’s kids are HUGE Power Rangers fans. As in, they dressed up as them for Halloween, and I suspect that they still don their uniforms when they are not trick or treating. And I’ll let you in on a little secret too, I sorta knew Saban was up to something when they told me I was getting a special personalized Power Rangers gift so I gave them her son’s name. Don’t worry, he doesn’t read my blog yet, so I won’t spoil the surprise.
Power Rangers 20th Anniversary Edition
Go, Go, Power Rangers. The Power Rangers 20th Anniversary Edition of MONOPOLY allows players to buy, sell and trade iconic locations spanning the entire history including Gosei’s Command Center, The Power Chamber, Rita Repulsa’s Palace and more.
I didn’t play the game or peek at the cards, I’m leaving that up to Cristi’s son. But I did take a look at the 6 oversize tokens and they are pretty awesome!
I’m guessing if you want to be the star of family game night, you might want to get this for your Power Rangers fan this holiday season. Sadly, your version won’t come with the super awesome personalized card, but you’ll still have fun playing this family classic!
The Power Rangers 20th Anniversary Edition Monopoly game is available on Amazon, or you can probably check your local stores.
